The name

The game is called CS Brasil. The compact spelling CSBrasil refers to the same browser game; the domain uses that spelling while the interface keeps the two-word name used in English and Portuguese.

Frequently asked questions

What is CS Brasil?

A free FPS game that runs in the browser: a CS 1.6 awp_map-style sniper arena set in a fictional, satirical Brasília, with 5 factions, 44 original characters, 5 maps, 26 weapons, bots, a round system and Capture the Flag.

Do I need to install or pay anything?

No. It's 100% free and runs straight in your desktop browser (Chrome, Edge or Firefox), with no download, no installation and no sign-up.

What are the factions?

Team E, Team B, Urban Tribes, Clowns, Funkeiros. Two of them have nothing to do with politics. Every character is a fictional, original archetype - no real people.

Is this an official Valve or Counter-Strike game?

No. It's an independent fan-made parody, with no affiliation with Valve whatsoever. Counter-Strike is a trademark of Valve Corporation.

Does the game take a political side?

No. It's light satire handed out equally to every side - no gore, no hate, celebrating Brazilian culture.

Is there a global ranking?

Not yet. The game is in alpha and the global ranking is switched off until the scoreboard is trustworthy - the current model is forgeable, and a forgeable leaderboard is a wrong number published. Your match stats are saved in the browser and show up in the game's RANKING menu. When it comes back, every player gets their public page at /u/<id>/<nick> again, with a PNG badge generated on the fly.

Can I play with other people?

Not yet. Today every match is against bots, from 1 to 8 per side (4v4 is the default). Multiplayer is the project's next big front.
